Dubai: Bigo Live, a global livestreaming platform with over 500 million users in 150 countries, has launched a series of online and offline initiatives across the MENA region to celebrate Ramadan. The platform is bringing together families, creators, and communities by hosting live Quran recitations, themed competitions, and interactive challenges, along with exclusive virtual gifts and in-app rewards to enhance the festive spirit.
The initiative transforms the digital space during Ramadan with events such as Ramadan Nights, which feature live conversations and reflections on spiritual topics; MENA Live House, a stage for creators to perform Quran recitations and soulful acts with audience voting; and the BIGO Mobile Valkyries Tournament, an esports competition celebrating female gamers. The celebrations will culminate in a grand Eid al-Fitr event in Jordan and Saudi Arabia that includes live shows, community activities, and exciting giveaways.
In addition to the digital events, Bigo Live is launching its first Offline Charity Initiative across MENA. This program will see agencies, families, and content creators coming together on the ground to provide Ramadan meals to those in need, distribute Eid gifts to orphans, donate essential groceries to underprivileged families, and organize community events to support local initiatives.
A spokesperson for Bigo Live stated, "Ramadan is a time for reflection, togetherness, and giving back," emphasizing the platform’s commitment to creating a positive, inclusive digital environment through robust content moderation and safety policies. This campaign is part of Bigo Live’s ongoing efforts to build a community-driven digital space that supports cultural appreciation and social impact during the holy month.
